We made another PSA about mental illness. A mental illness is a condition that affects a person’s thinking, feeling or mood. Such conditions may affect someone’s ability to relate to others and function each day. A mental health condition isn’t the result of one event. Research suggests multiple, linking causes. Genetics, environment and lifestyle influence whether someone develops a mental health condition. A stressful job or home life makes some people more susceptible, as do traumatic life events like being the victim of a crime.
We gave brochures and booklets about how to treat and deal with mental illnesses and the way to cope. We recommend a lot of help. Always talk to someone. Never feel that you can not. And the stigma that all people with mental illness are weak or weird. It is important to respect everyone. Ensure that you have good mental health and that your friends and family are safe.
